Our focus is on boats, boats that not only live in backyards, but are constructed there, garages or basements. Built of wood, using a kit, or a set of plans as a guide to your goal: getting on the water in a craft you have constructed.
We have started
putting together brochures in a pdf format that
group boats not by type but by use. Below are links
for the first two one for those interested in fishing and
one geared to smaller/lighter paddlers, ranging from
children to smaller adults.
Our services range from design, both custom and stock or we can modify one of the existing designs to suit your needs, these options can be coupled with having a boat custom built for you from either an existing design, or a one off design. Call us to discuss pricing for these services.

To keep you up to date with what is happening on the drawing board and in the shop we have Facebook page, a Blog, and an Instagram account for which you can find the links below. We use the Facebook page in particular to keep everyone up-to-date on what is happening in the shop, designs we are working on, and it includes building albums of boats as they are under construction, this can helpful in gaining an understanding of the building processes.
Catalogue & Price List
One of the
lines of information we include is the PPI, (pounds per
inch immersion), the weight it takes to sink the boat one
inch [2.54 cm], this is included to give you an idea of
the effects of loading on the boat. If you normally paddle
your boat loaded close to it's capacity and you plan to go
away for the weekend and add 50 pounds [22.7kg.] of gear a
boat with a PPI of 75 pounds [34kg.] it will settle in the
water about 3/4" or about 2cm.
The capacities listed for kayaks are the capacities around which the boat was designed, the maximum is calculated using the methods found in the ABYC standards for small craft, which are the same as those for Canada. For kayaks these numbers are often higher than we would ever recommend you load your boat, always be aware of how you are loading your boat; how the load is balanced, the usage and conditions it will see, as a guide stay within a couple inches of the recommended loading.
